While I'm Waiting

This song by John Waller is totally me right now. It speaks straight to my heart, and I wanted to share the lyrics with you. I LOVE IT!!!!!

I'm waiting
I'm waiting on You, Lord
And I am hopeful
I'm waiting on You, Lord
Though it is painful
But patiently, I will wait

I will move ahead, bold and confident
Taking every step in obedience
While I'm waiting
I will serve You
While I'm waiting
I will worship
While I'm waiting
I will not faint
I'll be running the race
Even while I wait

I'm waiting
I'm waiting on You, Lord
And I am peaceful
I'm waiting on You, Lord
Though it's not easy
But faithfully, I will wait
Yes, I will wait
I will serve You while I'm waiting
I will worship while I'm waiting
I will serve You while I'm waiting
I will worship while I'm waiting
I will serve you while I'm waiting
I will worship while I'm waiting on You, Lord

Verse of the day

I read this yesterday...totally love it!

Colossians 1:15-20

[Who is Jesus?]

"He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For by him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created by him and for him. He is before all things, and in him all things hold together. And he is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything he might have the supremacy. For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him, and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross."

Soul Searching

Soul (definition) - The spiritual or immaterial part of a human being or animal, regarded as immortal/the essence of something

This is a really deep post...but I can't help it. I'm curious, and want to know what you think!

After a few conversations I’ve had this week…talking about death and life and God and souls…I wanted to pose a question. How much do you know about your soul? Or...how much do you think about it?

I’m convinced that our souls take up more of us than we could ever realize. Think about it. If you’ve ever been to a funeral, the person doesn’t look at all like themselves. It’s like something is majorly missing. Maybe that’s because their soul has left. And it’s just the shell behind.

Oh the places I have been…

God makes life exciting…have you realized that yet? Since I started going to RVC, He’s sent me on 5 mission trips over 7 years, to 8 different countries. As a result, my heart has been broken for the hurting, the helpless, the broken, and the poor, especially the orphans, the victims, and the exploited.

Throughout the years, I’ve gained (and am still cultivating) precious friendships with people who have the same heart and same passion I do. It’s awesome. I love how God brings the right people into your life, in so many different ways, but always at just the right time. The encouragement, support, and excitement that stems from friendships like this is incredible. Conversations are amazing—God-focused, missions-focused—and as a result, when I’m with my friends, I get this awesome vision of what life is supposed to be like.

Keep moving forward

There are so many things on my mind. It's all jumbled together. But one thing I know is that God has this perfect plan for my life. I can only see a step ahead of me. And in order to continue to see that next step, I have to keep walking forward. I love this illustration, because it's so true and such a good reminder. It's like driving home on an extremely dark and densely foggy road. Your car lights only shine a few feet in front of you and you creep along nervously...you have no idea where you're going, and you can only really see as far as your car lights shine in front of you. And you have to keep moving, or you're stuck. But hey, good news! You have the light with you, illuminating the darkness around you.

So much on my heart

I just started reading, or rather listening to a recording of "A Hole in Our Gospel" by Richard Stearns. Oh my goodness. SO incredible. It's already gotten me tearing up today on the way to work and back...I just know it's going to rock my world.
